5-Hour Movie and Pre-licensing Course:

We are a provider of New York State's required Pre-licensing course. In order to get your license, you must complete this course. Because we know how busy our students are, and in an effort to make the pre-licensing course widely available, Carmen Driving School offers the pre-licensing course every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m., as well as every Saturday at 12:00 p.m. You do not need to make an appointment. Just bring your Learner's Permit, as well as the matriculation fee, if you have not purchased a package.

Defensive Driving Course (Reduction in insurance premiums):

We offer a defensive driving course that may save you up to 15% off your insurance. Call us at 212-740-6529 for more information. Please verify with your insurance company if they accept this type of discount.

 

This is what the DMV says about the Pre-licensing course, and how it is necessary for you to schedule a road test and eventually have a driver's license: 

"Attend a mandatory pre-licensing course or complete a high school or college driver education course. Most commercial driving schools licensed by the DMV offer the DMV-approved pre-licensing course. Look in the telephone directory under "Driving Instruction."

When you complete the course, you receive a pre-licensing course certificate (MV-278). You must provide the certificate number when you schedule your road test. You must also show the certificate to the road test examiner on the day of your road test."
